Canon Elph Extended Warranty
My wife’s Canon Digital Elph S500 recently began to have some serious problems with purple bands, horrible white balance, and finally gibberish images. I was about to resign myself to buying a new camera, however I searched around online a bit and found this:

It turns out there is an extended warranty for this problem! Hopefully there won’t be any trouble getting this repair service done.
If your own Canon Elph begins to fail, don’t forget about this service notice. It doesn’t appear to have an expiration date.
